Working Together to Ensure All Students Learn

Principal's Message

Dance 2.0:

Dance 2.0 is tonight from 5:00 - 7:30 pm in the SLVMS gym. Don’t miss the biggest dance event of the year. Monster Light Show. Big Screen Gaming. Big Screen Texting. Big Screen Live Camera Feeds. See you there.
Please remember that this dance is being run by an outside company and that nobody will be allowed to purchase a ticket at the door.  Tickets have been on sale every day at school and online for the past three weeks.

Powerschool Access:
The proper web address for Parent Access to Powerschool is:
https://grades.slvusd.org/public
This change was made by Powerschool to make the website and its information more secure. Powerschool will work with Google Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

There is a now workaround for using Firefox.
If you want to use Firefox, follow these steps:
Go to Tools, then Options, then Advanced, then Encryption.
Then uncheck the box, Use TLS 1.0.  That should do it.

This is a Powerschool issue, not an SLV issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Academic Intervention Day Q3:
SLVMS will hold its quarterly Academic Intervention and Reward Day on Thursday, March 1. Students who have all of their work turned in for all of their classes will be rewarded with 30 minutes of free-time fun activities before lunch that day. Students who have missing work, will be provided with all of that missing work, given 30 minutes in a classroom to get started on it, and then have all they information they need to spend the WHOLE WEEKEND getting it FINISHED!

March 1st is three weeks away, so students should start making sure they have all of their work turned in for all of their classes in order to enjoy the free time, which will include activities like Ping-Pong in the gym, Bingo in the art room, video games in the computer lab, Flag Football on the field, reading books and playing games in the New Library, or simply hanging out with friends in the main quad and being allowed to listen to their iPods.

Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon:
The SLVMS Faculty and Staff wish to invite any and all grownups who have helped the school in any way this year to our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.  We will honor those who help SLVMS be the best it can be on Wednesday, March 14, from 11:30 to 1:00 in the Middle School staff room.
See you there.
